NOTES
This was the first "unified" All-Star game in five years; in the previous years there had been an AL and an NL game.
Stan Musial set an ML record with his 24th All-Star appearance. (This would be his final All-Star game. In those 24 games he would hit .317, with twenty hits in 63 at-bats and six homers, an All-Star record.)
MVP Willie Mays got one hit, but drove in two runs, scored two runs, stole two bases and made the best defensive play of the game when he snagged a Joe Peptione fly ball in the AL 8th.
All six of the NL hits were singles.
The NL would win the next eight All-Star Games, and nineteen of the next twenty.
