Though Houston loaded the bases in the 5th and again in the 8th, the game remained scoreless through eight innings. Frank Howard hit an RBI single in the Dodgers 9th, which Houston matched thanks to Carl Warwick's run-producing single in the bottom of the inning. In the 12th the Colt 45's loaded the bases again -- and this time Howie Goss hit a RBI single to win the game. Houston starter Turk Farrell struck out eleven Dodgers and pitched a complete -- 12 inning -- game.
